Today, we meet with the hematologist and talked to him a long time trying to understand Kelsey's blood and liver issues and how they would affect open heart surgery and how the surgery could affect her future ability to make platelets. After talking with him it didn't look good for the open heart surgery. Right after talking with him, we talked to the heart
surgeon's nurse about the open heart surgery. She explained a lot and answered a lot of questions about the surgery. We feel better about Kelsey having the surgery but still not sure the hematologist will think it's a good idea at this time. Now all the doctors have to meet and decide what they think would be best...open heart surgery,
PDA surgery or no surgery and wait a week and see. Meanwhile, they are having trouble getting Kelsey to eat. She's starting to spit up a lot so they moved her feeding tube to bypass her stomach and go
straight into her
intestine.
Andy and I helped give her a bath tonight and she looked so sweet when we left her. I think she's starting to adjust to her new surroundings.
Still praying moment by moment for our sweet little Kelsey girl.
This is Kelsey after her bath in her new room, tucked in tight by momma and daddy.
