Kelsey had a rough day yesterday but a stable night. Her chest drain isn't working any more and her lungs are fillig up with fluid. It's getting harder and harder for her to breathe and requiring more and more drugs to keep her stable. Today, Andy and I are going to have to make some difficult decisions today. Our sweet Kelsey girl is a little fighter but her little body is getting weaker and weaker. Thank you for your continued prayers for peace, strength and comfort for all of us. Psalm 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

My heart goes out to you both. I cannot even begin to fathom what you have been going through seeing your precious little girl having such a rough time. Your amazing and unwavering faith is such an example to all of us and we continue to pray for your entire family. With love from Carol (& Glenn) Nevill
ReplyDeleteTo find meaning and purpose in the face of such struggles is a great testamony to your faith. God does not make mistakes and to have such an angel as Kelsey touch your lives is an awesome honor. Of course if it were up to us she would be healthy, but our ways are not His ways. Our God is so big, and so awesome, and His ways are so far from our own, that sometimes they make no sense to us at all. And that is when we are called to be like you. To walk through faith, to give it all to God, and to be an example to others. You and Andy are a light on a hill, and as always we continue to pray for Kelsey and you family
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing for Keeton & Kelsey to have such amazing parents! While I can't even begin to imagine the road you've walked these past six months and the road ahead of you, I know that you wouldn't change a thing having Kelsey become a part of your family. I so wish I could take away all of the pain you are going through, and I pray for Kelsey and you all.
ReplyDeleteMy daily devotional today was aptly John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world He gave his one and only Son, that womever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
May God, Kelsey, and the medical staff guide you and hold you today and in the days ahead.
We LOVE you!!!! I wish there was something I could do or say to make your pain easier. We are praying for your strength and comfort. - Sheila

ReplyDeleteGod does not make mistakes. That is a topic that I like to talk about when I get a chance to speak about special needs children.
Evan is 4 now, and like you Andy he has hemophilia. But what I try to get people (and myself) to see is that God made him perfectly the way he is. Why he has to have hemophilia is not for me to worry about. I just thank God for giving him to me. I am sure that you thank God for giving you Kelsey. And I am strengthened in my faith by reading about this family.
They say that God gives special children to special parents. That may be true, but I like to think that God gives special children to people to make them special parents. You two have shown yourselves to be just that.
I am oftened convicted about my prayer life when it comes to special needs kids. If I am so willing and even anxious to pray for Kelsey. Why do I not put as much effort into praying for those closest to me. Kelsey's life has strengthened my faith and I'll bet more people than we can count.
Praying for you every day!
